Sharing International Best Practices Dubai Harvard Foundation for Medical Research (DHFMR) The Foundation aims to support cutting-edge collaborative research, as well as establish sustainable research centers and education programmes focused on creating innovations in medical practice. Manzil has participated in the International Autism Project lead by Dr. Christopher A. Walsh, MD, PhD, Children’s Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School. Children’s Hospital Boston Children's Hospital Boston has conducted some of the world's largest and most active research projects at their pediatric centre. Manzil continues to collaborate and support (DHFMR) and the Children’s Hospital Boston in an ongoing research effort focusing on the identification of autism genes and other brain development disorders through cytogenesis and molecular genomic approaches. This research can lead towards improved diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders. The New England Centre for Children with Autism (NECC) A team from (NECC) visited Manzil. They also visited other special education institutions in the UAE to establish collaboration and to gather more information about the current status of special education in the UAE. The team closely studied the various Manzil programmes and was very impressed with it. They found many similarities with their own program followed in the USA. The Children’s Trust Tadworth The Children's Trust provides a wide range of services for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs. Manzil and The Children’s Trust have committed to professional cooperation between the two institutions. The foundation will transfer UAE national and resident children back to UAE upon completing their treatment at The Children’s Trust Tadworth. |
